About Sherry
Raised in a creative
family of sculptors, painters and musicians I have been deeply involved with art since early
childhood. Art remains an intrinsic and vital part of my life.
I am a graduate of the
State University of NY at New Paltz where I received my B.S. in art education. I have
extensive training in oils and pastels having studied art and art history both here and
abroad in Rome, Florence and Urbino Italy.
I have been painting
in soft pastels for over 10 years. It's my medium of choice. I love the color, feel and
application of the soft pastels.
My work is an impressionistic / realism mix. This style of painting I
call artistic realism. Subjects vary from pet portraits to still life and landscape
studies.
I paint my life, what's in it and what's around
me.
