I have been asked why I paint custom pet portraits. It's the power of love we have for our pets that drives my desire to bring that life and emotion to the art work. 

It's this special bond you have with your pet that I want you to be able to feel and experience when viewing the completed custom pet portrait. That connection is the passion behind my artwork which brings your pet portrait to life.

   Creating The Portrait

I paint with soft pastels on textured Seinelle LeCarte pastel paper, that holds the medium well. I do not use fixatives as it darkens the colors and I feel it changes the inherent quality of the pastel.  

I work from photos that you send to me. It is best to provide me  with a clear shot from the angle that you want of your pet. The pet should fill the photo. The larger the photo the better.

Also close ups of your pet's head and face are essential.  Please take the time to select the best quality pictures.  The more photos, the better my understanding of your pet's nature, coloring and qualities will be.
